Enrollment

CHYBA offers rolling enrollment, allowing students to join throughout the year!

Step One: BEGIN YOUR APPLICATION HERE. Please note that this online application can not be completed on a cell phone - you will need a tablet or computer. Once you have set up your account, you will receive an email with your username and password. You must complete both the household information tab AND the student application.

Step Two: You will also complete a paper application that can be printed HERE for the smoothest enrollment. If you are unable to print, you can pick up the application at our office OR we can fill it out during your intake appointment.

Step Three: Once your online application is complete, our Case Manager will receive notice and then reach out to the student's current or last school to request transcripts, along with IEP (if applicable). This may take a few days. Our Case Manager will call you once we have received all of the necessary documents and set up an intake appointment with you and your student (or just you if you are an adult).

Step Four: Your intake appointment is a one-on-one meeting where we get to know you and help you start your journey with our school. We’ll talk about your goals, past education, and any support you might need. You’ll finish up some paperwork, ask questions, and learn more about how our program works. In this appointment you will also get a “start date” - typically within 2 days of this appointment.

FOR OUR ADULT ED STUDENTS: You will have an extra step within your intake appointment. All adult students must complete an assessment test. The CASAS (Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment Systems) test is an assessment used to evaluate the basic skills of adult learners. The assessments are reading and math. It's not a pass/fail test, but rather aims to determine a person's skill level and aptitude to help guide their educational path.

Step Five: REGISTER TO VOTE! It is our program's mission to increase voter engagement among young adults and help them raise their voices within their communities and beyond. If you are 18 years or older please follow the 'Register to Vote' link. If you are 16 or 17 yrs old, you may pre-register to vote by following the link above.
